The colloquium "Bernese Talks on Sport Science" aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange in the field of sport science. Each semester, the different departments of the institute invite national and international guest speakers, with one talk in particular always placing a strong emphasis on practical relevance. The talks address current research topics and are held both on site at the institute and online. Afterwards, participants are invited to continue the discussions in an informal setting over dinner with the guest. The colloquium series is open to members of the institute as well as to other interested individuals.

In the current academic year, the "Bernese Talks" once again took place in a hybrid format, attracting an average of around 65 participants per session. National and international speakers presented and discussed a broad range of sport science topics. The contributions covered, among other areas, participation in physical activity promotion, sport pedagogy in the context of digitalization, game intelligence in football, athlete participation in elite sport, organizational culture and governance in sport, and the interplay of cognitive load theory and embodied cognition for enhanced learning.
